Competence Levels

All listed tradespeople, technicians and handymen (artisans) are assessed and graded into various competence levels. Their competence level is determined from their skills assessment score, and the education and training programmes they have successfully completed.

Find below the various competence level:

Expert – These are highly qualified, experience and competent tradespeople, technicians and handymen (artisans) recognised as authorities in their trade.

Advanced – These are very competent and experienced tradespeople, technicians and handymen (artisans) well versed in all aspects of their trade and can successfully coach or train apprentices.

Intermediate - These are tradespeople, technicians and handymen (artisans) that fully understand their trade and are competent in the practical application of their skills and knowledge.

Standard - These tradespeople, technicians and handymen (artisans) have basic / common knowledge or an understanding of the techniques and concepts of their trade. They have limited experience either gained in a classroom setting and/or experimental scenarios or as a trainee on-the-job. They understand and can carry out their trade independently without supervision.

Apprentice – These tradespeople, technicians and handymen (artisans) are still in training or are apprentices and require help from a supervisor to perform their trade.
